From 30 December 2025, the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) will apply, setting strict requirements to ensure that certain commodities and derived products placed on or exported from the EU market are deforestation-free and legally produced.
As a downstream operator, a non-SME, located in Riga, Latvia, Livonia Print relies solely on paper sourced from European mills, with more than 99% of purchased paper FSC or PEFC certified. We are fully committed to aligning our operations with the EUDR.
To prepare for the Regulation, we are integrating EUDR requirements into our ERP and internal systems. This includes strengthening traceability within our factory, enabling us to link all paper batches to every book produced. In Q4, we plan to test our information flow and will also inform customers about standardised methods for information transfer, such as invoices, packing lists, .csv files, or direct links to customer systems.
It is important to note that downstream operators like Livonia Print do not need and will not have direct access to geolocation data. Our compliance is ensured by receiving and validating Reference and Verification numbers from our suppliers via the EUDR Information System. We will then provide these numbers to our customers for every order.
Livonia Print has already completed a supplier risk assessment and continues to work only with partners assessed as low risk. We will be able to provide customers with Reference and Verification numbers once received from our suppliers, reflecting the step-by-step information flow set out in the Regulation.
Livonia Print is committed to demonstrating full compliance once the Regulation becomes legally binding on 30 December 2025.
