Responding to the growing clients’ interest on their suppliers’ readiness for the implementation of EUDR till the end of 2024, Livonia Print provides information on actions already taken and further developments to be in compliance with the EUDR.
What has Livonia Print accomplished so far in 2024 and what are the plans for the coming months?
Livonia Print has begun integrating the EUDR requirements into its Quality Management System by taking the following steps:
- April – June: An assessment of Livonia Print's quality system by the FSC auditing company Preferred by Nature, focusing on compliance with EUDR requirements (procedures, internal IT system).
- May - June: Supplier evaluation—verification of manufacturers or intermediaries, and review of supplier-provided documentation on raw material origins, including information in delivery documents, etc.
- August: Employee training on understanding and implementing EUDR requirements, conducted in collaboration with the FSC auditing company. Participants included project management, procurement, warehouse, export, environmental, and quality departments.
- August - October: Adaptation of the internal IT system to meet regulatory requirements, including updates to internal procedures and instructions.
- November - December: Testing of the "EU Information System Due Diligence" as soon as available.
During the preparation process we closely monitor the needs communicated by our clients-publishers and proactively seek guidance based on the information available from Intergraf (European Printing Industry Association).
What is the expected outcome by the end of 2024?
Livonia Print confirms that, starting from December 30, 2024, the company will fully comply with the EUDR requirements, contingent on the availability of the necessary guidelines and tools by the end of 2024.
Once the "EU Information System Due Diligence" is operational, Livonia Print will begin registering a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) for each export order, which will include the following information:
- The manufacturer of the product (printing house);
- The quantity and weight of the product units;
- The country of the product manufacturer;
- The location of the company’s production facility;
- Confirmation of compliance with EUDR requirements.
A reference number will be assigned to each batch (print run) produced by Livonia Print.
Starting from December 30, 2024, the reference number will be included in the invoice documents provided to clients. Using this reference number, clients will be able to obtain traceability information for the raw materials used in their products, including confirmation of compliance with EUDR requirements, through the "EU Information System Due Diligence."
More detailed information on the contents of the DDS, the types of data collected, and their availability will be provided once the official guidelines from the European Commission on the implementation of the EUDR are released.
