Jon Fosse’s “Nokon kjem til å komme” in Latgalian
Yesterday marked the release of a truly special book - Jon Fosse’s play “Nokon kjem til å komme” (Somebody is Going to Come) - now available in Latgalian. This play, one of the most translated and performed works by the Nobel Prize-winning author, is originally written in Nynorsk, a dialect-based Norwegian language. Its new translation into Latgalian, a comparatively less commonly used language in Latvia, is a remarkable literary milestone.
The play has recently been staged at the Daugavpils Theatre, bringing Fosse’s work even closer to Latvian audiences.
We are very happy and proud to have contributed to the production of this unique project, supporting the journey of great literature across languages and cultures.
