Our Climate Actions

Climate change is a growing problem that affects all of us. Global temperature rise, warming oceans, sea level rise, extreme temperature periods and many more evidence show that the climate change is our reality.

Livonia Print works on reducing its impact on environment taking these following steps:

Measure

Livonia Print is completing inventory of its greenhouse gas emissions and has measured and reported emissions according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol since 2020.

This calculation includes Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and it covers the product’s whole life cycle, from extracting raw materials to disposing the product at the end of its life (cradle-to-grave). In 2026, Livonia Print started carrying out the GHG calculations for reporting year 2025 more independently using South Pole’s Luumo platform.

Based on the data provided by Livonia Print, the total GHG reported emissions for the year 2025 are estimated to be 37,967.59 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e).

Set goals

At Livonia Print, sustainability is part of our everyday decision-making. It guides how we select suppliers, invest in equipment, plan production and manage materials. Our goal is simple: to use resources efficiently, continuously improve our environmental performance, and deliver the quality our customers expect.

To achieve our goals and reduce our environmental impact, Livonia Print sets annual sustainability targets and reviews them regularly to monitor progress, reassess priorities, and implement the actions needed to achieve them. We have set our sustainability goals 2026-2030 including ambitious climate targets and developed an emission reduction plan.

Our sustainability goals:

1. Reducing emissions:

  • Reduce total company Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 25% (ambitious 1,5°C scenario)
  • Reduce Scope 3 emissions per ton of product by 30,4% (well below 2-degree pathway)

2. Reducing energy consumption:

  • Reduce total natural gas consumption by 10 %
  • Reduce energy consumption per printed sheet by 1 % each year

3. Reducing the amount of unsorted municipal waste per total production volume by 40%

4. Increase the share of recycled or reused waste by 1%, bringing the total to 97,7%

5. Increase the share of post-industrial recycled (PIR) materials for packaging by 7%.

Take action

While not all emissions can be avoided, we offer our customers the option to fund climate action by matching the unabated emissions from their book production through verified contributions.

We are investing in certified and third-party verified emission reduction projects in cooperation with  South Pole – the world's leading developer of projects for voluntary carbon offsetting.

In 2026, our offsetting portfolio focuses on financing renewable energy projects where carbon reductions wouldn’t occur without external climate funding. Currently (in first half-year of 2026) we support projects that provide renewable energy through wind power (Mersin Wind power plant in Turkey) and clean electricity though small hydro plant (Nam Pha Gnai Hydropower in Lao People’s Democratic Republic), both registered under the Gold Standard.
