In response to ongoing feedback from international partners and stakeholders, the European Commission has released a new update regarding the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The Commission proposes a 12-month extension to the implementation timeline, which, if approved by the European Parliament and Council, would make the law applicable on December 30, 2025, for large companies and June 30, 2026, for micro- and small enterprises.
This extension aims to provide a smoother phasing-in period, allowing companies across the value chain to better prepare for full compliance. Alongside this, the Commission has published additional guidance documents to further clarify the regulation’s requirements, covering key areas such as traceability obligations, definitions of forest degradation, and the functionalities of the Information System that will manage due diligence statements.
As a large company, Livonia Print remains committed to staying up to date with these changes and preparing for compliance by the revised timeline. We encourage our clients and partners to follow these developments closely as we continue to answer any questions you may have regarding the new regulations.
